When my search for another pet began, I already owned one dog and one cat.  At the time, the dog was 4 years-old, a female, pit/lab mix and the cat was 5 years-old, a female, DLH.  In the end, a family that I knew was going to bring their dog to a shelter because the son was no longer taking care of it properly.  He is a 2 year-old retriever mix.  It has not been the smoothest of transitions for anyone in the house, from crate training to everyone getting along, but everyday I see another sign that it is getting better.

Starting in 2008, I made plenty of trips to shelters and phone calls to rescues while searching for an addition to the family. There was an overwhelming amount of dogs to choose from. The search went on and off for two years and one thing never changed – the amount of animals up for adoption. If I could have, I would have brought each and every single one home with me. This is why animal-scoop.com was created.

Since all of the animals could not be brought home with me and feeling I had to contribute somehow to helping them, animal-scoop.com was put into motion in August of 2010.

In addition to being a place to find rescues and animals for adoption, this site is meant to be informative, touching on a variety of subjects, covering the basics and by no means being an end-all on any of the topics.  Owning a pet is a learning process, nobody gets it right all of the time.  Any educational information is always contributing to the greater good.
